Japanese Stage 1 - Catherine

An introductory course in Japanese for complete beginners and for those wanting to revise and consolidate the basics.   Classes will focus on the language you will need when travelling to Japan - meeting people, getting around and buying things.  The main focus will be on speaking, listening and communicating.  Japanese writing will be introduced, but all material will be in the English alphabet at this stage, except for exercises specifically focussing on reading or writing.

The textbook we will use is "Talk Japanese" (BBC, ISBN 978-1-40668-019-5) plus material provided by the tutor.  Students are advised to get hold of a copy of the textbook, either with or without the accompanying CDs.  They should also bring a ring binder or file for class handouts.

Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Guildford.
